Lunch Lectures on Monte Carlo Simulation Studies
This is a recurring talk series on Monte Carlo simulation studies in psychology and related fields, intended for a broad audience:
- Students interested in learning about simulation studies
- Applied researchers who want to learn more about methodological research
- Methodologists wishing to stay up to date on the latest developments
Talks are held in English and are free to attend for everyone.
The series starts with two introductory talks on the design and implementation of simulation studies in R, followed by talks on questionable research practices, the state of the art and potential solutions, synthetic benchmarking, and reporting and open science practices.
These talks cover topics currently discussed in the scientific community. Opinions may differ, and the talks do not necessarily reflect the views of all working group members — they aim to provide a platform for learning and discussion.
For students and early career researchers, the youth member representatives of the Methods and Evaluation Division of the DGPs organize a yearly online hands-on workshop on simulation studies (in German). If you are interested in joining the next round, contact jungmitglieder.me@gmail.com.
